Hi Thomas and list.
this kind of sequencer is in layout stage and would be released in kit form
in about 1-2 month.
my company is called ANALOGIC and we are designing a line of control
modules which are called "the techno music machine's".

the sequencer is a 16 stage , stage selectable and preset able and is
designing around the 4516 binary counter.
it is design to fit in a MOTM mounting rails and it use banana jacks
for stacking and you use a 940 panel for converting it in to 1/4" jacks.
i would really like to know how many of you guy's out three would be
interested
in that kind of circular sequencer ?

the cost is not yet defined but it would be around 450-700$ in kit form.
the desghin use a high quality pcb mount cermet pot's and quality switches
and this components would define the price of the unit , the sequencer
internal logic makes that sequencer much more then a regular 16 step
sequencer and that makes it worth to use this pot's and switches , meaning
you would create much more then a repeated sequence .

thanx
Gur Milstein

BANANA JACKS SUCK!!!! Make sure you leave room for me to rip 'em off the
front panel and replace 'em with real jacks. The pic even has real jacks on
it!

You already said you are going to release it. Why are you asking us if we
want it or not?

OVERPRICED! Even more so when you consider most MOTMers don't have '940s.
And they need even more cables! Er, is that Canadian dollars? UK pounds?
German marks? http://www.xe.com

Paul is already going to release a step sequencer. So I wonder why you are
advertising competing products on *his* list?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I hope you do A LOT of clean up on the FP design too. It needs a lot of
help. It looks like a synthesizers.com reject at the moment. Obviously you
are advertising something you haven't even done a full prototype of yet.

I hope no one misunderstands anything I am saying. If you think you might,
please reread.

Please send flames to me privately.

Cheers!

Finally its here! Link to this page and check it out...

Well it might not be here, but at least it's a cool concept once again based
around the "now establishing itself" precident being set by MOTM. Imagine
how the lights would look in the dark on this thing. Lets go capture some
cylons Starbuck!

What's this?

Paul is going to release a step sequencer?

If this is true I'll gladly hold out for one (actually two!).

What sayest thou, noble Paul? Pray tell!

Richard.

Well, I *was* but got flooded with orders this year (not complaining). It's
not going to be this year for sure.
Sequencers, althogh fun to design and fun to use, take 5X the
design/kitting/building resources of other modules.

not to mention the fact that there are a number of other damn cool
alternatives out there, e.g., fat controller, mobius, UEG, various doepfer
goodies, 320/120 combo, etc...

i don't believe i'm about to say this, but i don't think we *need* an motm
sequencer... or at least there are a lot of modules we need *before* a
sequencer...

my $.03 (inflation adjusted)

bleep.
out.

Hmmm... I was fired up in my email about the sequencer (again). The MOTM
makes me so damn passionate.

If they do the round sequencer affordably, I will buy one. It is a unique
idea. It just needs thought out a lot better on a lot of fronts.

Does the MOTM need its own sequencer??? Definitely! SequencerS actaully.
I have a Mobius and 2 EUGs. Neither afford the functionality that the 3
sequencers Paul has suggested would provide. I am really into the barebones
MOTM sequencer at the moment; 8 step I believe.
