Software Oscilloscope

2001-05-18 by Mike Marsh

Howdy -

Some of us are poor, so we can't afford a fancy oscilloscope. Here's
a link to a pretty nifty software version that works with your sound
card: http://polly.phys.msu.su/~zeld/oscill.html. I have no
affiliation with this site or the author, I just did a search on the
Web.

Turns out my calibration wasn't too bad!

Grrr. The link includes the ending period. Can't anybody write
decent software anymore? *Sigh* Copy the link into the address box
of your favorite browser and it should get you there. A thousand
humble apologies...

These are all sold already, but deals like this are almost always available.

(the Hitachi brand is a very good value second hand)

I'd only look at ones with triggered sweep. (Stay away from cheap heathkit
and Eico.

Search for "oscilloscope", and then you can either search active items, or
completed items to see what a typical price is for a particular unit.

They are all less expensive than a motm800 (assembled) and are fancy for the
money.
