Some of the surplus supplies are removed from equipment, and none of the 
stuff is warranteed.  When you buy an open-frame supply from Digikey, or the 
MOTM-900 from Paul, you are getting a brand-new unit.

Also, I know someone who recently bought a bunch of Power One supplies from
a surplus dealer only to find out they were over 20 years old.  Yes, they
were sold as "new" because they had never been used, but do you want the
power for your new motm modular filtered by electrolytic caps that were
left abandoned in some warehouse for over two decades??  I know I wouldn't!!
