Paul offers longer cables for just this scenario. They are listed in the
PDF catalog.

power cables that come with the kits seem to be a bit on the short
side. Is it correct to assume that many of you have just ordered
connector parts and built longer cables?

I have found that things pretty much don't reach if you are doing more
than 2 rows of MOTM modules in a 19" rack.

Thanks

Paul sells longer ones. They're in the catalog. I think they're 30" but I
can't remember exactly.

My approach was to place one of the 12 connector PCBs in each cabinet which
houses 2 rows of 12U. I removed the terminal PCB from the 900 and
replaced it with terminal strips. I then ran 14ga leads to each PCB from
the 900's.

Paul does sell a longer cable. I made a few for myself since I needed them
for my 822, 831, Blacet etc. However, I do not have the proper tool for
inserting the wire. But, if you only have a few to do, you can do it
without the tool, or solder them. Soldering is a little tricky.

I have found that things pretty much don't reach if you are doing more
than 2 rows of MOTM modules in a 19" rack.

Hi all,

I wish I had a camera.... I have just finished my top box. One row 16U
wide. I made a four way power bus that runs the length of the box at the
rear panel. Each bus bar is made with solid core copper wire stripped
from 20A mains cable. It is held in place by five bits of wood screwed
to the back panel. Each piece of wood has four holes through which the
cores run. The cores are separated by about 2cm and the tension holds
them apart. Each MOTM power lead (25cm) is then soldered directly onto
the buss, with the molex/MTA connector at just one end. Each 2U bay has
one or two power plugs. Just in case there is a little voltage drop
along the lines the VCOs are down in the bottom box, which is where the
power supply lives. I used a four pole speakon connector, which is very
big but looks the part, to connect the two boxes together.

The wiring I did for my cabinet can be found at:

There is a simple RatShack barrier strip connected to the power supply. The wires
are courtesy of Stooge Larry...

same problem here, I have a 2nd power board dangling in the back of my
cabinet. Just be careful, this is not a portable unit (yet ;-)
