Rack rail orientation

Rack rail orientation

1999-08-04 by Christopher Jeris

Hi everybody,

Things are quiet now that Paul's on vacation, but I'm sure one of y'all
knows the answer to this. With my first set of MOTM rack rails came an
instruction sheet which indicated that the rails had a preferred
orientation (back-bent flange on top or bottom). Since then I've lost the
sheet, unmounted and mounted everything several times, and now I can't
remember which way! So, which way should they go, and is there an obvious
reason to prefer one over the other?

peace,
Chris Jeris

I hear crickets.

I have my rails set so that the curl is at the outside. I.e. the bottom rail
has the curl at the bottom, the top rail has it at the top. I hadn't
realized there were instructions! I wonder where mine got off to?

David.

I agree with David, mine are configured that way too, I find that I can take
one whole set of modules out at a time rather than taking them out one at a
time when I reconfigure the system. I never got any instructions. I just
figured the best way and went for it.

I used to ship instructions.....I think I will PDF them instead an upload to
site.
