I have the same problems but at different times on different lists. For a
few days many of my posts to this list would never show up (at least back to
me). Other times they were severly delayed. Then lately I haven't had any
problems here, but now on Analog Heaven I'm not seeing my posts that went out
ever a day ago. I am getting so fed up with this crap. Apparently the
morons who write the software to shuffle mail around the internet think it is
exceptable to lose a certain percentage of it. I don't know who's at fault
so I can't fire off an angry and hateful letter to the bastards. Computers,
I hate them.

Ken/Tony,

Are you seeing the posts actually lost or just severely delayed? I noticed the
delay but I haven't seen anything lost. Egroups had some problems where I finally
got some posts over a week late but they did come through!

I don't write mailer software for a living (so you can't shoot me) but my guess is
that yahoogroups, as it is called now, is a victim of its own success. They just
can't handle the volume of posts made on all the lists. I think this is compounded
by the redelivery mechanism that their mailers use. It seems to defer delivery very
quickly and the deferred queue is not serviced very often. At least, that is what
it looks like from my observations.

I suppose you could complain to the yahoogroups sysadmins...

FYI, I received your post at 2:48PM PST. The post in question was one that
Paul responded to with a subject of "DSP"

I read Paul's response, but never knew the question.

I've experienced both severly delayed and lost. For example I could write 3
posts in a row, separated only by a few minutes, sending each one after I
write it only to have the 3rd one show up but the first 2 I never do see no
matter how many days I wait. Most of the time other people can see them
though, but on the Nord Modular mailing list I have confirmed that even that
is not the case all the time. People have to go back to the archives and
there the lost posts sit but they don't show up in people's mailboxes in any
reliable or predictable way. This also happens on the AH list which isn't
yahoogroups. This kind of stuff annoys the hell out of me. I have no idea
what I'm missing or if others are seeing my posts.

I too will sometimes see answers before the questions are asked.

My solution to the mysterious missing emails is to set my prefs to
not receive emails at all. I just read and post messages using the
web interface.
