Panel divider graphics

Well, over the weekend I put white borders on the vertical edges of all my modules. I used 1/8" ChartPak graphics tape as has been mentioned earlier on this list. The visual difference is stunning. It's not as pretty as aluminum separators ala Moog, but it looks quite nice, and you can find a module in the middle of a big panel with your eye easily, which was part of the goal. I'm bothered by the cheese factor of putting tape on the otherwise elegant panels. I don't consider this a final solution, but the good news is that I can pull it off at any time. I have at least validated the concept of panel separator graphics. It would be simple to make up a jig that masks off the rest of the panel so you could spray paint just the edges. This however would be permanent, and would make the panels nonstandard with everyone else's (unless I could convince all MOTM owners to adopt my solution). So I'm still convinced that the coolest solution is metal edges that just bolt over the top. Dave Bradley Principal Software Engineer Engineering Animation, Inc. daveb@...
