I'm disappointed to hear of your experiences with some panels, I know Rex had some people doing assembly work for him, but he specifically mentioned to me (circa 97) among the reasons he didn't sell the old Serge Tcherpnin style of kits (assembled PCBs which the builder attached to the panel components) was due to the difficulty in assembly and the precision calibration required for the current modules released. If Rex decides the current state of the modular business is too much, I hope someone can take it over and at least offer service to the existing instruments out there, if not continue selling them. It would be sad to see all that info disappear into obscurity yet again. JB
