Hi Dave, Thanks for answering the questions. I hope you can figure out the IC. I found an OB-1 a couple of years ago with a bad power transistor but couldn't get it to work. The number on it was 7808, it took me a while to realize that was the date code, not the part number -- DOH! Your indication of a wirewound material is interesting since there are very large wirewound resistors. You've got me thinkin! Always a good thing. Good luck! John B.
