I just heard a little bit about "Good Vibrations" on NPR and it's time to ask again, hey Larry! what's the word on the Tannerin controller that you mentioned about a year ago (I assume nothing since you know how popular this stuff is with some of us)? So here's an idea that I thought of for a "simple" keyboard/ribbon style controller: use a resistor divider idea (exactly like a keyboard but with maybe four or more times as many resistors -- of a smaller value). Have the resistors mounted on a surface VERY close to one another -- maybe surface mount resistors would work better. Then suspend a "conductive surface" (a wire essentially, maybe a guitar string) just above the resistor string. I know it's not continuous, but it could still be useful. It's always seemed to me that the difficult part of building a ribbon was the resistive element -- this eliminates that part. Any thoughts? JB
