OT - EMS prices...

2000-06-15 by Aaron Swihart

Ok,

I was looking into getting an EMS vocoder at the end of last year - To go
with my Synthi - and here is the letter he sent back dated December 1999.
The prices were in UK Pounds, and the exchange rate that Robin quoted me at
that time was around $1.69 US to £1 UK. He also sent along some
informational packets on each one. They look soo retro....ahhhh, oohhhhh -
-

I wish I had some extra cash, I would love to pick up a 2000, if for
nothing else than nastalgia. I am a huge EMS fan and Robin is a great guy.

Dear Aaron,

As requested I am enclosing details about eht EMS Vocoders.

Prices are as follows.

	Vocoder 2000	£ 950
	Vocoder 3000	£ 2850
	Vocoder 5000	£ 6500

Note: the above prices do not include shipping.

The Vocoder 2000 is in stock at the moment, but as I said there are only 8
units left. After this I really don't know whether to do a redesign of
just find a new package for it.

The Vocoder 3000 is a bit pricey for my liking. This is because it is
assembled in Germany, but still using the samne eletronics as I use in the
2000. Although the case is good quality the price defferential seems a bit
steep just to get a row of 16 channel attenuations pots.

The 5000 is in there just for the dreaming - the last time we made one of
these was in 1982. We still have the capability to make them but would
need about 50% up front.
