Re: [motm] OT: Frostwave MIDI-CV

Yep--I have 2 of the Midi-CV convertors, the Funk-a-Duck envelope filter
and the MS20 filter clone. They all are great, although I have to say I
prefer the MOTM MS20 filter because it is a lot more patchable. Both of
my pedals sound great, though, and the Funk-a-Duck is a pretty serious
stand-alone sound mangling device, kinda like a poor man's Sherman. My
favorite thing about the midi-cv convertors is that they use dipswitches
for their configuration settings. I know this is *really* low-tech, but
it fits well with the way I work.
I ordered mine directly from Paul Perry at Frostwave, but you can also
get pretty good deals and quick shipping on them from www.gaspedal.com
(which I highly recommend as a new effects dealer).
Check the aharchives (http://www.midiwall.com/aharchives/) for more
in-depth reviews. I know Robbi Kultbox was pretty hot on the stompboxes
and posted some pretty good reviews last year--he was talking about
playing a show with just a Frostwave Filter pedal and an Eventide
Harmonizer...

PS--Paul's a great guy, too.
