You could set a disc sander to an angle, like 60 degrees, and grind away the paint on the panel edges and at the same time put a slight, uniform forward bevel on the module. This would help expose more of the edges (simply sanding the edge straight, I don't think you'd see anything...I imagine it would just look crappy on the seam between modules). If you want to actually remove 3/32" of paint in from the sides on the panel *front*, yeeeeesh! That sounds real dangerous to me. Masking tape and Zip Strip? I think you'd compromise the integrity of the paint job. You'd then have to seal the panels in polyurethane or something. It gets to the point where you have to ask yourself, "Do I *really* want those lines...?" -----Original Message----- From: David Bivins [mailto:dbivins@...] Sent: Wednesday, 12 April, 2000 4:42 PM To: motm@egroups.com Subject: RE: [motm] module panel separation moog-like alum stuff? Why not figure out a way to cleanly and uniformly file down the edges down to beneath the paint? I can't imagine it would be too difficult. Are there problems with this/considerations of which I'm ignorant? (O.k., I know I'm ignorant in many respects, so keep your comments to this situation ;))
