I highly favor this. Is there a way to have my MTOM-900 rebuilt this way? If not, I'll keep it and plan to use it in the rear of my future cabinet for powering more modules. Also, are there longer power bundles for when we have modules pretty far from the power supply? More thoughts: 1. Can the power supply be made 2 units wide instead of 3? The PS could be rotated 90 degrees to have a smaller footprint on the panel, then the connector board could be put on a plate mounted to the PS or to the new enclosure so that the connector board would not occupy any panel footprint area. Yes rotating the PS will make it a deeper unit, but I see no reason to limit MOTM module depth to what we have so far. None of our cabinets will be smaller than a foot in depth I would imagine. 2. Can we have a cool red indicator light (or LED) added by the power switch? 3. I would place the power switch and indicator at the bottom of the panel, as well as the label. This would all be below the space occupied by the two screws holding the rotated PS. 4. There could be an outlet on both the front and back of the module, and a rubber or plastic cover could be placed over the unused outlet. 5. Can we have a little voice chip activated at power-on say something cool or funny through a little internal speaker? Example: "Paul Schreiber Rocks!" "MOTHER!" "MAMA" "Kewl" or maybe just a cool sound effect. Just brainstorming as usual.
