I have to admit to this too! Hah!

The first thing the teacher in my high school EM lab said was, "Never do
this!" and whacked the side of the ELectrocomp, sending the reverb into a
thunderous cacophany. Naturally we all had to do it when his back was
turned. I actually wrote a piece around it! Hey, electronics have a fun
physical side to them, too.

I also like that cheesy old effect of physically hitting the case that
holds the cans for that train wreck kind of sound.
