MOTM

Of course, it's not really off-topic because I want to use it to control a
small (single-row) MOTM system (probably consisting of: -300, -420, -800,
-900 and either -320 or -120, depending on my mood) for performance
purposes ...

I just received a Roland MPU-101 MIDI->CV converter on semi-permanent loan
from a bandmate (a drummer who ditched most of his electronic music gear,
including a TB-303 that he gave away, back in the late 80s ... he still has
his broken OB 2-Voice, though), but the manual is long gone, so I thought
I'd ask if anyone here has one or is somewhat familiar with the unit.

My main questions is whether it can be set for "low note" priority for one
of its four channels.  I'll be playing leads/melodies on an RMI
Electrapiano and pads/chords on Prophet 600.  I'd like to, in effect,
extract the low (chord root) note from the 3 or 4 notes played on the
Prophet, and send that to the MOTM system (scaled down a couple octaves)
for an "auto-bass" accompaniment (I'm the bass player for the band, and
when I put the 4-string down I can play an OK lefthand bassline, but not
when I'm playing leads with one hand and pads with the other!).

If anyone could explain the buttons, mode switches and power-up "secret
codes" to me, I'd greatly appreciate it (a search of the Analogue Heaven
archives revealed the power-up code to get S-trig out, but that doesn't
help with MOTM!).  A full manual (xerox, whatever) would be even better,
but not really essential.  Thanks in advance!

I suppose eventually I'll have to get an Encore Expressionist or some other
MIDI->CV converter that has note-filtering capability (which I don't think
any of the Kentons do?), but in the meantime I'd rather spend my $ on 3 or
4 more MOTM modules ...
