I am one of the first adopters of MOTM. I was excited to get the damn power supply! I am the first member of this mailing list. I started it because I was tired of bugging Paul all of the time. I was looking for someone to share my excitement / amazement over MOTM with. I have met Paul Schreiber once. He even bought me lunch. I am an E-6 submarine nuclear power plant electrician. That sounds a million times cooler than it actually is. I currently work as a systems administrator and network security officer for a shore based training activity. I have a BSCS in Computer Science from Hawaii Pacific University (just graduated!). I am also self employed as a consultant (dirty, nasty word) specializing in database driven web design. I am married (to another CS person) and we have a cat. We live in Hawaii. It is not as great as everyone who doesn't live here keeps telling me. About the time I got my first MOTM module I went to the Navy's series of "2M" courses. This is miniature and then micro electronic repair. I am now certified as an inspector as well. What this means is I no longer do the "bigger the blob, better the job". It also allows me to make some very clean modifications to PCB's that are very hard to tell. (create your own traces and lay them on the board, etc) However, I never said that was easy or fun! Music, I like .mp3's of all kinds of stuff. I drive to "dark" (whatever that is) drum and bass. I also listen to the radio some. Musical influences? Ozzy Osbourne and Randy Rhoades, Steve Miller band, Eno, Vince Clark and some other stuff. What do I make? Not much. Gear. A HUGE PC with a few audio cards, DSP Factory, Event Layla, Creative Labs something. Few little analog circuits I have hacked together. I unfortunately sold my MOTM system early last year. At that point I had the largest system. I had 19 modules before the VCO's ever came out. Ultimately I will have enough time to start making modules again. I will probably only use the MOTM and my PC based things to write my sort of music (not sure how to describe that - sort of noisy / kid-606 sort of stuff). I intend to have a very large motm system, someday - maybe soon. Other interests. Helping people understand why *nix is a good OS. Programming little audio apps that do weird things to .wavs. Attempting to keep my big block Chevy powered Chevelle drive able on the street vice the quarter mile.
