David Bivins Brooklyn, NY Vegetarian MOTM: 100, 110, 120, 410, 420x2, 800x2, 320, 900 Case: SKB pop-up mixer case Notable other gear: Analogue Systems FB3 (now almost redundant), Furman RV-2 spring reverb, Future-Retro FR777, Jomox XBase09, E-mu SP-12. Lots of other goodies of various musical worth. Musical style: leans more toward the danceable electronic music, though not the stuff that seems to be popular with the kids. http://www.mp3.com/baldbastard Musical influences/likes: The Fall, Roy Harper, Severed Heads, Underground Resistance (and Jeff Mills, Robert Hood), Carl Craig, Meat Beat Manifesto, Richie Hawtin (Plastikman, etc.), Michael Paradinas (mu-ziq, Gary Moscheles, Jake Slazenger, etc.), Richard Kirk Favorite EM CDs right now: Tresor Demos #1, The Holy Church of Pharma, Cluster (not the German group but the label) - Clusterf*ck, Dave Clarke's Electro Boogie mixes, Yello - You Gotta Say Yes to Another Excess, Wendy Carlos - Clockwork Orange reissue Reason for building MOTM - yeah, like you want me to step on that soapbox again! Likes: milk, Budweiser, Primo Levi, NewsRadio, That 70s Show, cruising eBay while intoxicated, bagpipes, good modern dance Dislikes: goat cheese, decaf coffee, most live EM, bad modern dance I'd be very interested in hooking up with fellow MOTM-ites at some point in the NYC area. I'm really horribly, unfathomably busy right now with personal and work stuff, but I hope to poke my head up soon. A friend and I perform live once in a while, and next time (whenever that is--might be soon) I plan on bringing the MOTM rig. I'll let everyone know! Anyone from this area who actually knows what's going on in the live EM performance scene here in NYC (not Irving Plaza concerts by big names, but things like this EM "open mic" thing I've heard about at Brownies?), if you get a chance, would you let me know what's going on? I've been way too busy to seek anything out, but I want to make an effort to become part of a non-internet-based EM community at some point. David.
