At the risk of seeming/being self indulgent, I am so thrilled that --
while waiting (quite a bit less than
a century in fact) for oscillators (from various) that have yet to
materialize, I have managed to develop enough soldering
skill to build a MOTM-101 kit without soldering my fingers together,
and am so happy that I picked up
a MOTM-310 used from a good trader on this list -- that I have created
a piece of music using FM
which I have been salivating over experimenting with for some time. To
the many on this list whose
experience is vast these sounds will not be new of course. Regardless
there is only minimal digital
reverb and delay from Logic Pro and a tiny bit of Bit Crusher
distortion on the "percussion" otherwise
the original sound is all analog from my hodge-podge modular set up
(frac, euro, Cyndustries and MOTM formats).

And a whole lot of cut-and-paste and automation in Logic.

The file is six minutes, six seconds long and about 5.6 MB. If you are
curious enough take a listen, and
let me know if you have any trouble accessing it.

cheers,
JV

modules used here:

Plan B Model 15 VCO modulating a
MOTM-310
MOTM-101 White Noise percussion and surf sounds
MOTM-101 S&H modulating the 310
MOTM-320 LFO Sine Output to PWM on 310
Traditional ADSR to VCA to VCF patch using MOTMs 800, 190 & 440
also Blacet VCEG (EG1) to MOTM -1190, 1490
sequencer is a Blacet Hex Zone receiving gate signals from a
Cyndustries Gate Sequencer
sometimes the droney leads are fading in by twisting the knob up on
the LFO cutoff frequency until audible
also knob twisting the Sine LFO to PWM on the 310 gets some 2001 type
visuals ha ha
also some keyboard wheel turning to make a slow vibrato and glissando
on the leads
