Suitcases often have rounded edges, convex sides or a protruding frame that could make it harder for you to stack them vertically. One advantage they have is that they don't attract thieves as much as flight cases do. If you make your own, don't make them matt black. Give them a bad paint job in an "uncool" colour like glossy white.
