Re: Bracket design

The feel is good. The nut is crap - lots of slop. The threads are
cut square on the bushing so the nut only grips on 4 sides. They
will fit through the 1/8" panel with a lock washer on the back - but
just barely. On one I had to leave the front washer off so I could
grip enough of the threads. That's one of the reasons I used the
perf board on all the pins so it would help secure them. The pins
are very thin and not on 0.100 centers. I have not found a data
sheet so have no dimensions (so I could buy new nuts).

The front of the shaft has a screwdriver "indent" which is kind of a
bummer since that's what is visible as the light pipe. I really
would like to find some nice red inserts that would fit into the
hole in the end of my knobs. Maybe someday I will run across some.
The shafts are probably just a bit long and could be cut down (or
ground down). That would eliminate the screwdriver indent but I
wasn't brave enough to try this on these potentiometers.
