And don't I recall hearing that Mr. Tesla would, on occasion, use LFOs
to create sub-sonic waves that would make guests - Um - soil
themselves?  What a card, that Nicola.

You know - I had a college grad-school friend who was doing research
on the effect of sound on plants.  She observed all kinds of
interesting stuff - non of which I recall except that some of her
experiments stunted their growth and others got really unusually big,
healthy plants.  And so, I guess I have nothing real to offer - just
anecdotes and vague memory that suggests there's probably something to it.

That being said -

Certainly Ayurveda contains ideas about the effect of sound on just
about everything.  And isn't there something called Marma Therapy as
part of that tradition?

And the field of Bioacoustics seems to include a splinter group that
is studying the effect of sound on health.
