After I ship the 18 or so MOTM-800 kits on order, and the 12 assembled ones, I will be out of 1M log pots. The problem is (and always has been), that these are never a stock item and so I have to order them as a custom. Which is 16-18 WEEKS delivery and a 600pc minimum order. Sometimes they will accept a 400pc order, but the last time I bought these was in Nov of 2005 and they made me take 600. So, if after tomorrow calling and begging, if I can't get them to sell me like 150 (which will last me at least 1 year) I am going to retire the current design and switch over to an SMT version of the MOTM-1800 Frac EG which *internally* has both CV control of all parameters and the looping/burst stuff. In order to be "form, fit and function" with the existing MOTM-800, these fancy features will not be implemented. From the "outside" the function will be exactly like the existing MOTM-800. I can add all the fancy stuff, but that would go to a 2U wide module (MOTM-810) to add the 2 extra jacks and the 4 extra pots (plus switch, pushbutton and [gasp] LED). You would figure a 1M log pot is not that 'rare' in the real world, but distribution mostly stock is linear 1K, 5K, 10K and 50K. Even 100K linear can be an issue to locate. I will keep you posted on the Great Bourns Pot Hunt of 2008. The 100K linear pots for all the other modules is not an issue, I have over 400 of those sitting here :) Paul S. reason #488 why stuff takes so long to ship
