On 7/23/08, loopcycle put forth: >a mobius is an excellent timing/clock centerpiece. shame its discontinued. > >a funny thing has happened to the 707 just lately. in the last six >months or so, the average going price has jumped to $250-300! Really?? I wonder if that has to do with the increased availably of percussion modules, and the decline of hardware samplers. A hardware sampler with individual outs can be used to trigger analogue drum synths, and is velocity sensitive, just like a TR-707. Also, as a 707 is all digital, its function as a sound module could be replaced with a hardware sampler. Nowadays, no one makes hardware samplers (except Akai MPC units) and the ones that were made are no longer supported via software. On 7/23/08, David Moylan put forth: >The 606 can act as a master and also put out pulses for the toms so you >can use it to clock a sequencer. I haven't used the two simultaneously >but it should work in theory. It also works in reality. The issue with TR-606's is that people keep buy them to hack them apart thinking they can somehow mod the poor little things into an 808. http://www.prepal.com/data/Roland.htm
