Wouldn't it make more sense to put saw on the module and pulse on the 
expander, since "supersaw" is so popular these days?

The first design (now scrapped) used a different technique for the 
oscillators, and saw was not even possible. I have the panels already :)


I also thought that the Cloud Generator used DCOs. Has this changed 
recently?

They are digital VCOs :)
