MOTM

I'm using various Tellun User guides to track down various bits and
pieces for a few different projects and Scott lists part numbers for
both disc type and the little yellow axial types like used on the MOTM
boards.   
Since the disc style is 1/3rd the price of the axial style, is there
really that much difference in Use between the two?  Or do the axial
type simply look cleaner on the boards? Maybe they last longer?
