Seems like Al would be > cheaper. a) Well, the 'flat part' where the pcb mounts is ~4.35" x 3.85" (not the hole spacing). The flange part (that goes under the pots) is ~1.35" x 3.85". b) these are stainless steel, aluminum is too soft at these thicknesses, unless I go to a tempered (like 6061-T6) and those tempers do not like right-angle bends.
