Agreed, it's tempting stuff. There's no voltage-controlled stage 
selection, though. Of course, you did mention hacking! VCSS of a 
16-stage sequencer requires only a 4-bit ADC, far short of rocket science.

Ray Wilson makes a 16-step seq board, I think.
