I Believe the "8" is the thickness of the screw(milimeters maybe?) the "32" is the thread count (I think it's per inch ie 32 threads per inch) and the "3/8" is the length of the screw. All in all I'd also, for the simple sake of knowledge, like to know for sure what the "8" means...millimeters/16ths of an inch....
