I used to have a nice soft scope for the pc, but I haven't run into one for my mac yet. A software scope is very limited though, I don't think you'd be able to use it for many of the normal things you'd want to use a scope for. Ebay is a crap shoot. Sometimes you get lucky. I did - bought a Heathkit scope for 20$, and although it looks funky, it works fine. For that kind of price, if it doesn't work, you just throw it away and try again.
