Hear, hear! (haha, couldn't resist.) I heartily agree - I listened to it twice in a row as I was reading email this morning; then started it again before I had to go on to other things. I really love purely "electronic" sounds, i.e. non-imitative, timbral glory. FWIW, I don't particularly like electronic music that is harsh sounding - dissonant, timbrally unpleasant (which is subjective I realize), etc. Subotnik is a good example - some of his pieces have sections that I like, Silver Apples of the Moon for instance. But much of his work, though brilliant and very talented; I just don't enjoy listening to - studying maybe, but not just listening to. But this piece is right up my alley - cool, interesting, timbrally rich; but simple and pleasing to listen to. I realize this isn't necessarily a completed piece of music, but it sounds like the beginning or foundation of something really good. Ok, so there's my $0.02. If you ever record a CD, let me know! Larry David p.s. I realize "timbral", and "timbrally" are not real words (at least according to dictionary.com); but they should be!
