Robert, I get asked about this once every couple of months, so if we've had a private conversation already and I repeat myself I apologize. I really should put up a web page with some explanations and image links. The SOD cabinets were built by hand-fitting a 4 segmented line (with each segment being 5U long) around a curve made by the arc of my extended arm. After that, I drew a cabinet around it and bumped the front back about 1/2" from the segmented line to give a small lip to the front of the cabinet. I started with top and bottom symmetrical, but Stooge Larry pointed out that it looked top heavy that way. So I tilted the segmented line back a skosh (technical term alert). I measured the cabinets after the fact and have a dimensioned side view, but I wouldn't build it from those dimensions again - it's too hard to reproduce that way. I'd redo it around that segmented line again. I do have a surviving plywood template that is the shape and size of the side panels, but I'm holding on to that in case Stooge Industries decides to ever manufacture these cases ourselves. Dimensioned side pic here, FWIW: http://www.hotrodmotm.com/images/case/case_dimensions.jpg Moe http://www.stoogeindustries.com --- In motm@yahoogroups.com, "Michael Zacherl (aka TonTaub) " <egroups@...> wrote: > > > Moe should be able to tell more: http://www.hotrodmotm.com/ > > HTH, :-) Michael. > > Robert Holmström wrote: > > > I am just about to have a cabinet built for me, and I thought about the > > "Synth of Doom" style.
