Oh, okay. I guess I misunderstood how the diode would function. I thought,
as in a diode 'clamping' circuit, that it would just limit the incoming
voltage to 5v. I guess what you're saying here is that it will lower the
voltage overall, and +5v gates will 'disappear'? Forget it then. (Sigh)
Nothing is easy.
