I have
an NR 25 but I haven't got my 650 yet. I picked the Novation because I needed a
small
controller for desktop use and figured I'd get a synth engine while I'm
at it. I played around with
competitors and for the price I thought the Novation had the best feel.
The UI is a bit convoluted,
but I
am using my PC to program it. I liked the key action the best of the sub-$500
controllers.
Most
of the others are plain crap. For a full-size kb I think Paul's recommendation
of StudioLogic
is
right on. But I've already got some other vintage keyboards and am not ready
with my MOTM
system
to go with a dedicated controller. I like the NR 25 for my purpose and will be
interested
seeing
how it plays with the 650.

People say the Edirol keyboards are good. And the software supports
Windows 98SE. Now all I need is my MOTM-650!
