Since I've come out of lurking mode for Larry's memorial, I'll field this: If you want to go that way, I would stay with the FracRak format. Have a box o' Paia VCOs feeding a bank of MOTM filters, for instance. Use 1/4 in. male to 1/8 in. female adapters to patch between the two. But I must say that MOTM VCOs are flat out the most stable on the planet. Check out the MOTM 310 micro VCO.
