3 vco`s in a closed loop produce a nice, noisy effect.
              
                          vco ----------------> out
                              |     |
                      vco --|     | 
                         |          |
                vco----|          | 
                  |-----------------|
              ( fm input  or normal 1v/oct input )

all 3 vco`s track the same controller voltage. try soft syncing them also. 
relative tuning of the vco`s is crucial.
