When I placed my first MOTM order barely two months ago, I had already laid out what my front panel style was going to be, picked fonts, worked out a whole design template... actually started putting together a "style guide" with Pantone color swatches... When I placed the order with Paul, I even mentioned to him that I was probably going to make my own panels for the MOTM stuff to fit the look I had designed. He said, "Why don't you just have a separate cabinet for the MOTM stuff?" But I wanted everything to be uniform. It's the Industrial Designer in me, never mind the anal retentive. But about 5 minutes after opening the MOTM shipment and looking at the solid hardware design, I started fondling the front panels, mumbling, "Wow, I'm not going to replace _these_." I guess I was expecting something more along the lines of PAIA or something (although to their credit, PAIA has improved their stuff a lot from the 'old days,' but Paul moved the bar up pretty high). So now I'm trying to make everything else look MOTM as best I can! -----Original Message----- From: The Old Crow [mailto:oldcrow@...] Heh heh, I can't speak for Paul, but I suspect that getting others to raise the level of their own gear to the standards of MOTM is sort of like the ultimate compliment.
