Boy that was a quick response.  Yes, I've heard something about the 
MOTM-130.  Where can we view it?

To follow up, I did find an Electronotes article by Lester Ludwig, EN 
#108 (16).  He gives a circuit using the SSM2020 chip that does cross 
panning and fading.
