MOTM

Hi. I'm a newbie.  I just got enough modules
together to start making sound, and now I need a
controller.  i'm trying to set up my system as a sort
of art project, and I'd like to use ventriloquist doll
heads as my keyboard (pull the string-mouth opens-note
plays, release string-note releases). I don't need a
lot of notes, I have about 12 heads. 
   I hope my scheme doesn't offend any purists out
there, because I really need advice about how to rig
the heads to pull this off.
   Any info very much appreciated.
