In a message dated 99-10-31 19:22:01 EST, you write: << I for one, would like to hear a detailed description of your algorithmic computer control devices, as this is an extremely important part of the way I use analog sequencers and would imagine I could do much more powerful work with a computer. >> john, actually, a pretty simple setup - 1) a commodore 64 with a midi interface running a program called "stochastic algorithm composer" ( sac), written by a friend of mine, jack deckard and at one time distributed by dr.t`s. 2) 2 amiga`s ( an a2000 and an a500 ) with midi interfaces running a program called "algorhythms" ( i believe it is now public domain, can`t recall the authors name off hand ) these allow me to set various starting conditions and then they go. i record output, keep what i like and keep repeating the process. my setup is very small, driven devices are a casio cz101, a "miracle" keyboard and my new d****** modular. i have another amiga a2000 that i used for simple 8 bit sampling and noise/sound creation using its built-in sound capabilities ( which are actually very good for such "old" technology). there is a 4th amiga ( an a2000 ) that i`m slowly upgrading to eventually put on-line to be able to more readily tap the huge amount of amiga software available over the net. recording is done ( don`t laugh !!!! ) on a 4 track fostex cassette machine. as i said, my setup is very simple!!! :^) main plans are to add modules from everywhere to grow the synthesizer and keep it interesting and fun. building on a solid foundation makes that relatively easy. motm triple filter is something i want to try to add soon. best, dave
