Thanks for the article. The gimmick of using a resistor to change the taper of a linear pot has been around for a while. If you refer to Electronotes #111, pages 5-6, you will find a short article by me, entitled "Warping the Response of a Linear Input Attenuator". It shows how to obtain a taper similiar to an audio taper by adding a resistor to a linear pot, exactly as described in the article linked here.
