Nice ideas re dimming down blue LEDs, but I agree with Larry that 
abrading
them mechanically rather than attacking them chemically might be a 
little
more predictable, and will kill fewer brain cells in the process. :-)

Thanks Adam - I just wanted to get the ball rolling here as I suspect 
there are more LED fanatics than not.

And you must know - that my dead and buried brain cells are the 
reason I'm doing this at all in the first place! (pretty much all 
from solder fumes) I mean really - other than the few kindred spirits 
I've been meeting here, most everyone thinks (and has since I built 
my first PAIA in 6th grade)that I'm stark raving mad!  Now don't get 
me wrong, I'm quite comfortable with this feeling, and the older I 
get, the more I cherish it!

I'm having a great time currently, completely driving my wife insane 
with my little obsession...ok she was that way before I married her - 
my mistake...

Commence lighting !
