Again "L" brackets is all > I can think of. Is it true that this problem is dealt > with on the MOTM site? Absolutely not. The only thing true is that one stooge (ahem... me) was trying to irritate another stooge (ahem.... you) by spreading vicious rumors and lies. Sorry. :) I thought that "conspiracy" comment would let you know I was telling a boldface lie. I think you are correct that as much as we have discussed the various other aspects of cabinet construction, this is one that has been ignored. I can think of only two ways to attach the center rail to the cabinet side. One is a corner brace or "L" bracket as you have suggested. I think this is about as good an idea as anything (especially since Paul has planned for the rails to have a longer trailing edge). Another idea if you are willing to scrap part of the end of your rail would be to drill, or otherwise cut a slot into the end of the wood that the rail would fit into. This has three big drawbacks. 1. hard to change later; 2. rail must be installed when the cabinet is built; 3. could get to be a real bitch if you are planning a magic bus. Perhaps there are some other good ideas out there. Hint Hint. I exchanged e-mail with Kevin Lightner yesterday. He has a Moog slant face cabinet in the shop right now and offered to take any measurements or photos we might like to have. He also granted permission to use any of his photos to the list for the purpose of cabinet construction (although it is probably as easy for one to just go look at his site). JB, you have my public apology for acting too stooge-like on the list Larry (giving himself a two finger eye-poke) Hendry :)
