> Should I punt the phono pre for now? I just personally like messing with them :) > Maybe a dual mic pre and 2-ch headphone 'distribution' amp is better? hello again, my assumptions are based on how someone's system will ultimately be used i think in a DJ scenario (hence the phono inputs) an aux is going to be take from the DJ mixer at line level - even the cheapest DJ mixers have aux outputs / returns now if the end user DJ is going to spend $$$???? on a modular, it's likely they'll already have the means to process the vinyl ??? not wanting to put a downer on things - but why dual mic pre..? surely one mic pre per module would be fine unless there's some esoteric classical recording technique i don't know about (highly likely actually) in terms of putting two of the same 'thing' in the same module - i don't really see the point - purely because my system is currently spread across five small cases - it's portable, and two cases are specifically set up for live use (one oakley/cgs, one motm) - i may find i need two mic amps, but to have them in separate modules is far more convenient so there you have it - just my humble opinion again i'll tell you what though - is it possible to have the headphone amp drive some small speakers with some sort of suitable pcb screw connection..? cheers paul b
