One MOTM user, Robert Poss of the old NYC "noise band" Band of Susans recommended a G&L ASAT guitar. These are supposedly a "Strat done right": better pickups, key & bridge hardware, wood. Me, I don't know doo doo. I just want a decent guitar to MOTM interface to and then play. I sort of like the tone of the Wes Montgomery/Joe Pass/Eric Gale Gibson 335ES (?) but not really going to learn to play in that style. Les Pauls are too &#$#& heavy and the good ones are $1700. (Unless it's a '61 flame-top at $55,000) What sort of spurred this on is that my uncle is giving me (for postage) a dead mint 1972 Fender Dual Showman amp+ 4X12 cabinet. Has about 10 total hours, been in a closet last 25 years, never turned on. I'm told this thing is worth about $2000. And it's a loud Fender amp that is good for Strat/Tele type playing. Then I'm getting a Line6 P.O.D. effects job. Which brings me to myself, the King of Electronics Trivia: The 2 designers of the aforementioned POD effects unit also designed what famous analog synth? Paul S. also awaiting '410 reviews to trickle in
