Since this list, MOTM and Paul got me seriously into electronics, I feel a special kinship here. So in my journey, I now get asked to fix all manner of electronic devices. Fortunately most of them are blatantly obvious problems--turn it on, it isn't plugged in all of the way, replace the batteries, or a small cold solder joint. I now have one that is out of my (minor, minor) league. A friend has a TV set that is difficult to turn on. You hear it clickwhen you press the power button , but nothing happens. Press the button again and hear a slightly different click and still nothing happens. Repeat many times, then wait about 5 minutes and try it again and it works. Occassionally it will turn off by itself especially if it hasn't been on for too long. I know this is way OT, so I apologize. If anyone knows what the problem is or has some good suggestions, I would love to hear from you. Please reply to me privately. Thanks!
