It looks like you're just going to have to shrink the inside AND the outside
of the barrel<g>!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But this is also true when grabbing the barrel with the shrink
inside. If you grab the wire instead of the barrel you deserve any
trouble you get!

True, but I haven't had trouble with plugs coming unscrewed anyway.

My main objection (besides the fact that I think shrink over the
barrel looks kinda funny), is that I can't repair an end without
destroying everything. And THAT is a big deal for these really stud
patch cables. I want to be able to keep these going for the next 20
years.
