Mr. Ehlardt: I don't wish to annoy, but a good heat-shrink sleeve material and decent plug/cable connection will not have problems such as you describe. I have been using 3-M heat-shrink tubing, Switchcraft 280 plugs, and Belden 9778 cable for years with no difficulties in applications far more destructive than modular synthesis. In my estimation, Mr. Hendry-Stooge that he is-can certainly be trusted to find an MOTM-worthy supply of patch cables for those unwilling to make their own. Personally, I like making patch cords. It's a bit like knitting for me. Very calming-much like stomping an irritating manager or the like... Chub-spending way too much time under flourescent light lately.
