----- Original Message ----- From: <revtor@...> im not even too sure why this would be useful, but modules based on integrating MIDI into our systems is a new and modern direction for a modular synth methinks hello all, well, i have the ball again and i'm to RUN ! this may well lead to a massive delay in the 650, or it'll turn into another 650 module (???) but, one thing that has always tempted me towards a Kenton Control Freak was the control voltage to midi conversion. I've seen a couple of DIY solutions on the web, one electronics based, one software / interface (i started building the latter about two years ago). I think they're all limited to 0-5V ranges, but i just love the idea of being able to (randomly) control mixes from my modular, or purely being able to record random voltages as midi information. i think on a general front, the re-integration of modular synthesis into digital systems is a good thing, and has a whole host of applications beyond merely placing a motorised fader under the control of a sample & hold modules (or serious feedback patch) anyway, just my tuppence worth cheers paul b
