Ken's right, Steve. For dialing in your oscillators and for learning a good deal about the sounds and control voltages, a "so last week" oscilloscope of good quality will work fine. Check out the local amateur radio swapmeets (I can help you there)and you'll find the big names (HP, B+K, Tektronix, etc...)going for pennies on the dollar. My most expensive 'scope cost $125- 50MHz B+K. I knew the seller and tried before I bought. I don't know If I'd even want an LED based 'scope, Ken...I LIKE a pretty picture! Chub-'scoped and ready!
